Announcing DMA 2.0 and DEA Technical Preview

It is our pleasure to announce that Data Migration Assistant (DMA) tool v 2.0 general availability and Technical Preview of Database Experimentation Assistant (DEA) have been released at the PASS Summit.

Now we will be able to assess and upgrade our databases using DMA, and validate target database’s performance using DEA, which will build higher confidence for these upgrades.

הערב (ד', 19:30) צפויה הכרזת General Availability של SQL Server 2016 באמצעות הבלוג הרשמי של SQL.

גרסה זו טומנת בחובה שיפורי ביצועים משמעותיים ביכולות קיימות, ואף ופותחת בפני המשתמשים אפשרויות חדשות לניהול בסיס הנתונים וביצוע אנליזות מתקדמות.

SQL Server 2016 מאפשרת בניה של תהליכי Mission-Critical חכמים תוך שמירה על רמת אבטחה גבוהה וביצועים מיטביים, הקצאת משאבים מדורגת (scalable), פתרונות BI על-גבי מכשירים ניידים ופתרונות ענן היברידי.

שלום רב,

גרסת CTP מספר 3 השתחררה בשעה טובה לפלפטורמת SQL Server 2016 שנימצאת בשלבי פיתוח במעבדות מייקרוסופט בארץ (וגם בחו"ל... :) ).

העדכון השלישי עמוס ביכולות חדשות ובשיפורים חדשים. 

בעדכון החדש אנו נחשפים ליכולת מגניבה ושימושית - RRE Integration לטובת אינטגרציה של בסיס הנתונים עם R.

עוד שיפורים רבים ניתן לראות כמעט בכל רבדי ה- SQL SERVER , ב- in memory, במנוע עצמו, ב- SSMS, ב- SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, MDS  ועוד ...

Live Query Statistics in SQL 2014, not just SQL 2016

בהמשך לפוסט הקודם שפירסמתי בנוגע ליכולת החדשה  Live Query Statistics בגרסת SQL Server 2016 שתצא בקרוב,
אז מצאתי פוסט מעניין של Rob Farley, ונראה שניתן להנות מהיכולת הזו כבר בגרסת SQL Server 2014

Live Query Statistics and Activity Monitor

כידוע לנו גרסאות ראשוניות של פלטפורמת sql server 2016 כבר התשחררו ואיתה גם רשימת הפיצ'רים של הגרסה החדשה.

אני אישית אהבתי שני חידושים בגרסה:

1.     Live query statistics – יכולת חדשה.

2.     שיפור במסך ה- Activity Monitor – שאני חייב לציין שהוא היה טוב מאוד גם בגרסה הקודמת שלו, אך עם השיפור החדש – הוא בהחלט מצויין ושימושי.

ולקינוח – האינטגרציה בין החידושים הללו ! שבהחלט משפרת את ה- flow של ה- DBA בשוטף בזיהוי וטיפול בזמן אמת בתהליכים בעייתים.

אז בואו נתחיל עם היכולת הראשונה, בין היכולות המעניינות והשימושיות בגרסה החדשה הינה ה- Live query statistics – היכולת לראות בזמן אמת את התקדמות ריצת הטרנקציה בצורה ויזואלית .

בעזרת היכולת החדשה אנו יכולים לראות את קצב התקדמות כל שלב ב- execution plan ובכך לזהות בזמן אמת צווארי בקבוק.

לדוגמא, בצילום המסך הבא ניתן לראות שהטרנקציה רצה, והשלימה 26% מסך הריצה, וניתן לראות את קצת ההתקדמות ברמת כל שלב ב- execution plan.

ועכשיו,בואו נעבור לחידוש במסך ה- activity monitor – בגרסת 2016 הוסיפו לנו חלק חדש למסך – Active Expensive Queries  - חלק זה שבעצם משלים את חלק ה- Processes מציג לנו בצורה קלה ויעילה את הטרזקציות הכבדות והארוכות שכרגע רצות באינסטנס שלנו.

הרעיון הוא שבמידה ואנחנו נרצה לחקור עומס בזמן אמת – נוכל בצורה יעילה לזהות ולדוג את התהליכים הכבדים שכרגע רצים.

ועכשיו לאיטגרציה – בין היכולות החדשות !

במידה ומצאתם תהליך כבד שכרגע רץ באינטסטנס – אתם יכולים לעשות קליק ימני עליו ולראות את ה- Live query statistics  שלו.

מייקרוסופט מתחילה לשחרר פרטים אודות הגרסה הבאה של פלטפורמת בסיסי הנתונים הבאה: SQL Server 2016.
