חדשות AZURE מכנס Microsoft Ignite 2018

בכנס Microsoft Ignite 2018  שהתקיים  ב24-28 בספטמבר בפלורידה, הוכרזו עשרות רבות של חידושים והשקות, מתוכם לא מעט  (כ 60 הכרזות), איך לא, ב Azure.

הכרזות נבחרות בתחום Data & AI

1. Azure Data Explorer – Public Preview
   Azure Data Explorer שירות המפותח ממש כאן בישראל (ILDC), הינו שירות לאינדוקס וביצוע שאילתות במהירות הבזק. השירות זמין כעת בתצוגה מקדימה לציבור (public preview). פתרון זה מסייע  בהפקת תובנות מתוך כמויות גדולות של נתוני אירועים, שמקורם בדרך כלל באפליקציות, שרתים והתקני קצה. ללקוחות יש אפשרויות שונות לחקור באופן אינטראקטיבי נתונים כמעט בזמן אמת על מנת לנתח במהירות את הביצועים ולאבחן בעיות.
   

2. Azure Machine Learning New Capabilities
   Azure Machine Learning מסייע למדעני נתונים ומפתחים לבנות ולהכשיר מודלים של AI מהר יותר, ולאחר מכן לפרוס את המודלים בקלות לענן או להתקן קצה. עדכונים חדשים משמעותיים לשירות כוללים:  
• למידה ממוחשבת אוטומטית כדי לזהות את האלגוריתמים היעילים ביותר ולמטב את ביצועי המודלים;
• מודלים נוספים המואצים בחומרה עבור FPGAs, ו- SDK של Python שהופכים את שירותי Azure Machine Learning לזמינים באמצעות IDEs ומחשבים ניידים פופולריים.

3. Azure Delta Databricks – preview
   Azure Delta Databricks הוא פתרון חדש הזמין בתצוגה מקדימה (preview)  ב9 אזורים חדשים, כחלק משכבת ​​התמחור premium ב- Azure Databricks. שירות Delta מעלה את רמת האמינות של הנתונים, משפר את הביצועים של שאילתות ומפשט את ניהול ה Pipeline של הנתונים. 

4. Azure SQL Database Hyperscale and Managed Instance
   הושקו שתי תכונות חדשות ב Azure SQL Database המסייעות בהפחתת העלויות של מיגרציה לענן:
• SQL Database Hyperscale-  עבור מסדי נתונים בודדים, (public preview מתחילת אוקטובר) הוא שירות סקיילבילי מאוד, אשר מותאם בזמן אמת (on demand) לעומס הנצרך על ידי תהליך העבודה. השירות גדל אוטומטית עד ל 100 TB לכל מסד נתונים, על מנת להרחיב באופן משמעותי ומיידי את אפשרות הגדילה של היישום.
• Azure SQL Database Managed Instance מספק תאימות כמעט מלאה עם SQL Server, ומאפשר העברת workloads מקומיים לענן בשינויים מינימליים.

5. Azure SQL Database intelligent features
   באמצעות התכונות החדשות שנוספו למשפחת השאילתות החכמות, קל לבצע אופטימיזציה של ביצועי השאילתות. מיקרוסופט הכריזה על שלוש תכונות חדשות (ב preview):
• row mode memory grant feedback
• approximate query processing
• table variable deferred compilation                                                                                                                      

Microsoft Learn

Microsoft Learn is a new, free, and interactive destination for customers, Microsoft employees, and partners to quickly learn Azure skills and prepare for certifications. Operating as Microsoft’s core technical educational offering, it is designed to provide each audience a “learn by doing” experience with:

• Self-paced learning: task-based tutorials and modules aligned to role-based certifications to fit an individual’s schedule.

• Learn by doing: Interactive, in-browser coding environments providing hands-on experience. The launch also includes updated instructor-led training, along with free Pluralsight courses for Azure aligned to the role-based certification.

• The ability to get recognized with achievements: Customers can complete modules, test their knowledge, and earn and share achievements recognizing Azure skills acquired.

• Learning the way the customer wants: Customers choose from self-paced tutorials, hands-on learning, structured online courses from Pluralsight, and instructor-led classes from learning partners

SQL Server 2019...

Today at Ignite, Microsoft announced the first public Community Technology Preview (CTP 2.0) of SQL Server 2019. 
For the first time, SQL Server 2019 comes with big data capabilities built-in, with Spark and Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) in the box—extending SQL Server beyond a traditional relational database. 
An enhanced data virtualization feature, PolyBase, enables you to query other databases like Oracle, Teradata, and Mongo DB directly from SQL Server without moving or copying the data.
As with every release of SQL Server, SQL Server 2019 continues to push the boundaries of security, availability and performance for all your data workloads with new compliance tools, higher performance on the latest hardware, and high availability on Windows, Linux and containers. Now you can take on any data project, from OLTP, BI and Data Warehousing to advanced analytics over big data.

SQL Saturday Israel 2018!

We are about 30 days to go before SQL Saturday Israel 2018!

SQL Saturday Israel is a great day of learning, a chance to network with other Microsoft Data Platform and OpenSource Platforms users, learn about new trends in the Data and Analytics world, eat tasty stuff and enjoy a beer party in the afternoon where you might even win a few prizes!

SQLSaturday is a training event for SQL Server professionals and those wanting to learn about SQL Server. Admittance to this event is free, and most costs are covered by donations and sponsorships.
